At the Heart of It

Having worked previously with the Senior Manager for Training and Leadership Development in the Trust both in the UK and internationally, we were asked to support a Leadership Learning Needs Analysis from Board level to supervisor/team leader and provide recommendations for action.

The Call to Adventure

To develop trust and rapport with staff at all levels, we designed and delivered workshops and interviews mindful of creating a safe, confidential space in which participants could speak openly and honestly. We created questions that would stimulate thinking and debate; listened without assumptions and judgements or filtering in or out what we expected or wanted to hear; remained vigilant to what was not being said and probed for a deeper understanding of what was really going on. We then analysed qualitative data to identify themes and proposed a range of recommendations to address issues emerging and create a healthy, open leadership culture.

Coming to Life

The work created clarity about the leadership and management culture in the Trust and alignment to The Kings Fund leadership framework. It also identified where the blockages were and made clear recommendations for a range of interventions, in addition to leadership training, that would improve leadership and relationships in the Trust.

In the 15 plus years that I have known Lizzie, I have asked her to work on a number of leadership and culture projects across a range of sectors and countries. I know that with her experience, wisdom, calmness and authenticity I can put her in any environment and that she will get to the heart of the issues and what needs to be done. She does this through deep questioning, great listening and outstanding facilitation which in turn allow her to develop and deliver pragmatic solutions for the diverse communities in which she works.
